Don’t Be Overwhelmed

The most common queries that students come up with are what sources to use and where to start preparing. The most common mistake students make these days is using ten different sources for every other subject. Frankly, CLAT does not need such extensive research on any section. Do not listen to every advice coming your way; know what is best for you. CLAT is an aptitude test, and it tests your mental skill; it is an assessment of who you are. A month of excessive mugging cannot change that, so follow the best and ideal source. Be completely thorough with one source.

Take Your Needful Time

Every student learns at a different pace. For someone, reading comprehension might be a kid’s play, while for some others, it might require to re-read a passage to understand the gist of it. It is okay to start slow, provided you eventually become faster at it.

Legal reasoning is one of the tricky sections that tests your patience and understanding. Students need to be extra careful with negative marking in place. Going through rigorous practice and working with the right frame of mind are the two ways of going through this section.

Don’t Involve In Last Minute Mugging

English vocabulary and General Knowledge can be very intimidating subjects to prepare. To pass through these sections, one must update themselves every day, rather than trying to mug up to master them in a short period.

Developing English proficiency and learning Current Affairs requires long and sustained efforts. So, students must start doing them continuously every day alongside other subjects. Reading a reputed newspaper and a good magazine can help you with GK and English together. It is not recommended to mug up the entire Current Affairs magazine during the last days before the exam.

Similar is the case with Math. Students can divide the CLAT topics from different sections and practice questions from that particular topic every day. You can practice revising them at different times of the day to maximize understanding and productivity. Switching subjects after every short period can keep you fresh and retain your energy. Figure out your own ways to upgrade your speed.

Other Points

  • Do not make the process mechanical. Go for the logic behind the topics; it’ll be easier to understand. After practising, you will get an idea that half the questions can be solved just by going through the options. Don’t exhaust yourselves solving every single question.
  • Stop cluttering your desk. Avoid stacking unnecessary books on the desk you’re studying. This will distract you from what you’re currently studying, and you might think about the subjects that are left to be prepared. Just keep one book and try to concentrate on that.
  • Read reputed newspapers everyday. Try to read the sections that are important from the examination point of view, for example, the editorials, sports, politics, scientific events, judicial decisions etc.
  • Do not isolate yourselves. CLAT is an important exam for your career, and we don’t want you to ruin it by panicking. So stay calm, prepare your best, and have confidence in yourself.
