The Consortium of NLUs has modified the CLAT 2022 exam syllabus. Candidates taking CLAT 2022 on June 19 should study the Current Affairs (including GK) segment, which is worth 25% of the exam. Candidates should maintain accuracy in the GK and Current Affairs sections and the Legal Reasoning component to improve their CLAT marks.

CLAT 2022 Current Affairs and GK Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The CLAT Current Affairs & General Knowledge portion has

  • Approximately 35-39 questions or about 25% of the total question paper.
  • 450-word passages followed by a series of multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
  • Each question will be worth one mark, with 0.25 points deducted for each incorrect attempt.
  • Because the CLAT exam has no subsection time limits, students can prepare for Current Affairs, including GK, to complete this section as quickly as possible. Candidates can use an efficient CLAT GK section preparation plan to prepare for a real-time event.

The CLAT Current Affairs and GK part, as the name suggests, will feature questions on both current events and static general knowledge.

The questions will be based on current events, journalistic sources, and non-fiction publications.

Candidates should keep up to date on the following current events:

  • Major national events that occurred within the last year
  • Major international events that occurred within the last year
  • At least one year of legal events, both nationally and internationally

Candidates should concentrate on the following significant concepts and subjects for Static GK:

  • History of Art and Culture
  • Domain of Law

The most challenging aspect of this section is that current events keep changing constantly. As a result, one must stay up with current legal events for CLAT.

Let’s grasp an idea of the legal current affairs in CLAT right now:

  1. Antarctic Bill from India

India signed the historic Indian Antarctic Bill on April 7, 2022. India joined the first Antarctic Treaty 40 years ago in 2022. This measure aims to monitor and control operations at Antarctic research outposts. This continent is the world’s natural treasure hub, and it is our responsibility to protect it. Because environmental sustainability has become one of the most popular themes in recent years, students should be familiar with it as they prepare for CLAT 2022.

  1. The Chip Bill of USD 52 Billion

As one of the most talked-about topics in the last month, this has sparked a worldwide debate. Following the epidemic, the world’s existing import-export agreements have been destroyed. Furthermore, following America’s isolation of Russia, a significant gap in the market for imported Russian goods has emerged. Semiconductors are one such product. The US Senate has allocated 52 billion dollars to semiconductor manufacturers to address the problem.

  1. Amendment to the IPC

The Code of Criminal Procedure, the IPC, and the Indian Evidence Act were all amended by the Indian government. These modifications make significant improvements to India’s criminal laws. The Home Affairs Ministry and the states have suggested implementing these modifications. This is a critical phase in the overall remodeling of the Indian Penal Codes, particularly the section on criminal law.

  1. Application for National E-Vidhan

Nagaland State Assembly has initiated the National E-Vidhan initiative. This work mode allows you to conduct House Proceedings on the NIC Cloud. Megh Raj is the name of this NIC cloud.

  1. Census Procedures

The Indian judiciary has always relied heavily on census data. The Union government published a gazette notification on March 11, 2022, introducing new terminology in the Census laws. “Electronic form” and “self-enumeration” were the terms. The census survey form includes survey questions linked to them. It is predicted that this inclusion will improve the Census’ efficacy and reliability.

  1. Scheduled Tribe Amendment Bill

Other communities are included in the Scheduled Tribes Section, according to a bill passed by the center. On March 15, 2022, the agreement was signed.

  1. TRAI Act

The Indian Parliament created the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Act in 1997 to monitor, regulate, and oversee various telecom activities in India. This rule will be in its 25th year in 2022. Through a conference with all stakeholders of the act, including members of the Telecom, Broadcasting, and IT departments, TRAI made the 25th year of this Bill meaningful and essential.
