FAQs Related to CLAT Coaching and Preparation

The CLAT is a national-level law entrance exam conducted in India for admission to National Law Universities (NLUs). The exam tests candidates on various subjects, including English, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques (Mathematics).

The CLAT exam is given by students who want to pursue law courses from the prestigious National Law Universities (NLUs) in India.

NLUs are the top-ranked law universities in the country where you get high-quality legal education and training. The graduates from these colleges are highly sought after by leading law firms, corporations, and organizations in India and abroad.

This exam is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). It also oversees the admission process for the NLUs. The member NLUs contribute to the Consortium’s decision-making process, and they also share the responsibility of conducting the exam and counseling process.

The CLAT exam is conducted in an offline mode, usually in December, by the Consortium of National Law Universities.

The exam duration is two hours, and it consists of 150 questions carrying one mark each. The exam tests candidates on five subjects, including English Language, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics. The question paper is designed to evaluate a candidate’s critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

This exam follows a negative marking scheme, wherein one-fourth of the marks are deducted for each incorrect answer. The candidates are required to secure a minimum cut-off score to qualify for admission to the NLUs.

The admission process is based on the candidate’s CLAT score, followed by a counseling process conducted by the Consortium of NLUs.

Online CLAT coaching by Law Prep Tutorial helps you prepare effectively for the exam with live online classes, study material, mock tests, and personalized guidance from experienced faculty.

There is no specific limit on the number of attempts for the CLAT exam. Candidate can appear for the exam as many times as they want, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

However, it is essential to note that the exam is conducted once a year, and students need to apply for the exam during the specified period. Therefore, planning of attempts should be done accordingly.

It is also important to note that the scores of the CLAT entrance exam are valid only for one year. Candidates need to apply for admission to the NLUs during the same year in which they appeared for the exam.

To appear for the CLAT exam, you must have a minimum of:

  • 45% marks (or its equivalent grade): General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories
  • 40% marks (or its equivalent grade): SC/ST categories

The online CLAT coaching offered by Law Prep Tutorial is the best for your preparation. It’s because of the highest success rate institute holds, strategic preparation, robust study material, 360-degree guidance and mentorship, highly experienced teachers, and several other benefits that help you crack the exam.

CLAT is conducted only once a year.

No specific stream is considered the best for CLAT as such. The exam is designed to test the candidate’s aptitude for legal studies, and it does not have any specific eligibility criteria related to the candidate’s academic background or stream of study.

However, candidates who have studied humanities or commerce at their 10+2 level may find it easier to understand and relate to some of the concepts covered in the exam. This is because the humanities and commerce streams usually include subjects such as political science, economics, history, and geography, which are relevant to the study of law.

But it is important to note that the CLAT entrance exam does not require any specialized knowledge or expertise in any particular subject. Candidates from any stream can appear for the exam.

Yes. You can prepare for CLAT after 12th as the exam doesn’t have any upper age limit.

CLAT exam date for 2024 is yet to be announced, but it will be in December 2023.

Our CLAT coaching fees is only INR 78,000 (including GST).

CLAT registration fees in 2024 is INR 3,500 for SC/ST students and INR 4,000 for all other categories.

The ideal time to start CLAT coaching depends on your level of preparation and the time available for the exam.

It is recommended to go for coaching at least one year or more before the exam. This will allow you to cover all the topics thoroughly, revise the concepts, take mock tests, and get personalized guidance from experienced faculty.

Moreover, starting early also helps in building a strong foundation, which is crucial for cracking the exam. It can also help in reducing the stress and pressure of last-minute preparation and improve the chances of success.
