The Consortium of National Law Universities – NLUs will release the CLAT 2021 cut-off at the time of counselling and seat allotment for the 5-year integrated LLB program. The cut-off list released is category-specific and is released for all the participating NLUs of CLAT 2021. Currently, there are 22 NLUs that offer 5-year LLB programs.
This year the counselling session of CLAT will have around five seat-allotment rounds. Note: CLAT cut-off for a counselling round will be the last rank for which admission is offered in that round; any candidate who scores below the cut-off rank will not get admission.
Typically, the cut-off for the general category is always higher and so they need a higher rank for admission than an SC/ST candidate.
For determining the cut-off, admission officials will consider a number of factors like the seat intake for the program, total number of applications received for admission, and performance of the candidate in the CLAT 2021 exam.
Factors Determining the CLAT 2021 Cut-off
The following points will be considered by admission officials while calculating CLAT 2021 cut-offs.
- The number of candidates appeared for CLAT 2021
- The number of candidates who have applied for admission process
- The CLAT 2021 merit rank of the candidates
- The seat intake for the 5-year LLB program
- Category (SC, ST, etc.)
- Previous years’ cut-off trends
If any of the parameter changes, the CLAT cut off would also change. For example, if the number of applicants increases the cut-off would also go higher. But on the contrary, if the number of candidates goes down, the cut-off would also come down.
