RJS Eligibility Criteria 2025 (Rajasthan Judiciary Eligibility)

The Rajasthan Judicial Services Exam (RJS) is a competitive exam conducted by the Rajasthan High Court to select eligible candidates for the post of Civil Judge in the Rajasthan Subordinate Judiciary. The exam is held in three stages: Preliminary, Mains and interview. Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Exam are eligible to appear for the Mains Exam. The final selection is made based on the combined performance of the candidates in the Mains Exam and the interview.

Here is the detailed eligibility criteria for Rajasthan Judiciary exam:

RJS Exam Age Limit:

  • The minimum age limit for appearing in the RJS is 21 years.
  • The upper age limit is 40 years for General category candidates.
  • There is a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates.  

RJS Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized university.
  • The law degree can be of 3 year or 5 year integrated course.
  • If you are in your last year of graduation then also you can appear for the exam.
  • But if you are appearing for the RJS exam in your last year of graduation then you must have your final graduation marksheet before the mains exam. 

Other Eligibility Criteria for RJS Exam

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates must be mentally and physically fit for the job.
  • Candidates must have a good moral character.

The application process for the RJS is usually online. Candidates need to create an account on the official website of the Rajasthan High Court and then fill up the online application form. The application form will require candidates to provide their personal details, educational qualifications, and other relevant information.

The RJS is a three-stage exam. The Preliminary Exam is an objective-type exam, while the Mains Exam is a descriptive-type exam and the final stage is an interview round.

Preliminary Exam

The Preliminary Exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions on the following subjects:

  • Law (70 questions)
  • Hindi and English (30 questions)

Mains Exam

The Mains Exam consists of the following papers:

  • Law Paper-I (Civil Law)
  • Law Paper-II (Criminal Law)
  • Hindi Essay
  • English Essay

Interview
